Meet The Musicians

Emma, Midnight Strings

Emma, also from Ilfracombe, the elder sister of Jenny and Kate, began learning the 'cello when she was 8 years old. She took to it extremely well and within only a few years was awarded a grant from the YMS upon a very successful audition. Emma quickly went onto higher things, being lead cellist in her school orchestra to performing as part of a 'cello quartet representing the young musicians of Devon in a tour to Prague. Emma was invited to tour with the Devon County Youth Orchestra on three separate occasions to Holland, Prague and Norway. Emma has performed in many prestigious venues which include Hampton Court Palace, Birmingham TownHall, Harrogate International Centre, Carnglaze Caverns, Canterbury Cathedral, as a soloist in The Queens Theatre and live on FM radio. Having established a very successful career, Emma is in constant demand as a teacher of 'cello, double bass and piano throughout Devon, whilst regularly travelling nationwide performing with many ensembles.
