Kate Collingham from Ilfracombe, Devon took up learning the violin and piano at the age of 10 alongside her two sisters. Kate studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama where she gained her Honours Degree under the tuition of Christopher Horner, and also the DipABRSM. Following her degree Kate continued her studies in London under Richard Crabtree at Trinity College of Music. Kate has performed at numerous venues including St.David's Hall, Fairfield Hall, Hampton Court Palace, Hampton Court House, Wales Millenium Centre, Well's Cathedral, Tewkesbury Abbey, Trinity College of Music, Birmingham Town Hall and has toured as a performer throughout Europe with Spirit of the Dance Productions and Devon County Youth Orchestra to Prague, Denmark, Holland, Sweden, the Faroe Islands, and Norway. Kate has performed in concert with Spirit of the Dance Productions, Rapheal Wallfisch, Thomas Spencer-Wortley, All Angels, Devon County Youth Orchestra for Her Majesty The Queen's Golden Jubilee. Under the baton of conductors which include Howard Williams and Scott Stromann and in numerous masterclasses with prestigious musicians such as Leslay Hatfield, Steven Tees and Nigel Brookes Kate has a tremendous base behind her ever-increasing professional life. Kate's awards include Rotary Young Musician of the Year, Hilda Phillips memorial cup for excellence in music, and a Vivian Moon Foundation Award, and was a finalist for the BBC National Orchestra of Wales placement scheme.
